Job Description:

PURPOSE:

The Assistant Manager Education supports, implements, monitors and evaluates the activities, to manage and improve READ Foundation’s Primary and Middle schools (15-20 average) in the respective region.

REPORTS TO: Project Manager  

JOB DESCRIPTIONS:

1. Provide visionary leadership and strategic guidance to school principals and administrators to ensure effective school management and enhance student learning outcomes.

2. Conduct regular monitoring visits to assigned schools as per the schedule to supervise staff performance, ensure timely implementation of plans, and initiate corrective actions when necessary.

3. Identify out-of-school and street children within the community and collaborate with key community stakeholders to facilitate their enrollment in schools.

4. Develop and implement student enrollment strategies within the school catchment areas to achieve and exceed enrollment targets.

5. Mobilize community members through dialogue and awareness campaigns highlighting the importance of education and school attendance.

6. Foster active community participation in project activities by engaging local influencers and stakeholders in school improvement initiatives.

7. Establish and support School Councils in targeted locations to promote local ownership and management of education facilities; organize and facilitate regular School Council meetings as per the plan.

8. Ensure adherence to school timings and monitor the attendance and punctuality of both teaching and non-teaching staff.

9. Assist the Project Manager in the development and execution of comprehensive school development plans/ Improvement plan.

10. Responsible for data collection, analysis, and generating required reports for the assigned schools/region.

11. Assist the Project Manager in ensuring compliance with reports and queries raised by the PEF Program/Monitoring Team.

12. Ensure strict implementation of READ Foundation (RF) /(PSRP) policies across all assigned schools.

13. Lead capacity-building initiatives for school staff through face-to-face training sessions and on-the-job support to enhance professional skills.

14. Coordinate and oversee examinations, periodic assessments, and Quality Assurance Tests (QAT) of students following established procedures.

15. Ensure accurate and timely updating of student and teacher data in the Student Information System (SIS) and Teacher Information System (TIS).

16. Organize and conduct regular meetings with principals, school in-charges, and staff to review performance against standards and plan future activities.

17. Prepare performance appraisal reports for school staff, provide constructive feedback, and report findings to the Project Manager.

18. Actively participate in school festivals, ceremonies, and community events to strengthen communication with community members, NGOs, schools, and local influencers; promote READ Foundation’s activities and explore new partnership opportunities.

19. Plan, coordinate, and administer examination-related activities including preparation and printing of question papers, conducting exams, compiling results, maintaining records, and organizing result/reward ceremonies.

20. Prepare and submit comprehensive reports on office and field activities as required by READ Foundation management.

21. Manage the distribution of educational supplies and resources to schools efficiently and transparently.

22. Coordinate with relevant government line departments and stakeholders to ensure delivery of quality education services.
